At Pentre Farm we have a huge variety of animals, from cute laid back guinea pigs that will relax in a basket while you hand feed them specially prepared salads! all the way to the grumpy llama Linda who wont make eye contact with anyone. You are sure to find a friend here

Pygmy goats

The smallest of our goats are inquisitive, fun, cheeky and super cute! they have nappies so they can come inside and love nothing more than being fed treats as a reward for doing a trick!

Big goats

Our big goats are golden gurnsey and anglo nubian. They are gentle and loving. They love to jump and forage for delicious food they are usually not meant to have like rose bushes….

Pigs

We have 2 oxford sandy black sows, we try to have a litter of piglets annually around march time and keep one back to grow on. Chocolate and sprinkles are laid back gentle characters and love an ear scritch.

Shetland ponies

We have 5 shetland ponies, 3 miniture and 2 standard, pictured here are our 2 standard boys Patch and Juicy! They love being groomed and going for walks, and if there are carrots involved then all the better

Donkeys

So similar yet so different from the ponies. Have you heard a donkey bray? Its a delight to the ears! they are stubborn! but so gentle and they take life at their own speed which is slooooooow. Perfect for nervous visitors to groom as they are solid as a rock

Guinea piggies

We have a wonderful herd of piggies here, 2 males who live separately and around 12 girls usually. We occasionally have babies as well. These little girls are the sweetest things on the farm and a firm fave with all that come to visit

Sheep

We have a mixed flock including Texel, Herdwick, Suffolk, Mules, Welsh, Charolais and we have introduced Dutch spotted tups in 2025 so hoping for some lovely cross lambs.

Alpaca and llamas

We have a small flock of alpacas and a llama, Linda. We are working with them to get them more confident on lead ropes with the hope they can join the pop up farm division

Giant rabbits

We have a giant Dutch continental and a blue Vienna rabbit at the farm, they are to big for lap cuddles but love to be brushed and stroked in their pen, and if you are patient and have something tasty they will come and hop right over to say hi

Chickens

We take on a few ex laying hens a year and hatch our own chicks, this is a great way to rear friendly confident hens, now just to find where they laid all their eggs …..

Ducks

The ducks are great fun, and did you know they LOVE peas. They come out with us on pop up farms and the duckling’s come to care homes for visits and cuddles to get them nice and friendly. We tend to have Indian Runner ducks
